Hello everyone, It is with a huge disappointment that I have to announce that the Short Course Showdown scheduled for next month at Unser Racing has had to be canceled. I have been in talks with the owner of Unser Racing as well as the previous manager of the RC Section of Unser to try and get them to come to an agreement and reopen the RC Track. Unfortunately over the past month the parties involved could not come to an agreement and they will permanently close the RC Track. As I said I am very disappointed because when we set up the schedule for this year, I was confident this would be a great place to bring the showdown and visit a new facility and new area of the country. I have done all I could over the past month to make something happen by working in depth with both parties but it is entirely out of my power and I have had to make this decision. As for the option of moving it to another facility, There are a couple of very nice tracks in the area but I think at this late stage in the schedule it would not be possible to have a successful race with such short notice. Trust me I want to hold an event as everyone knows how much I love the Showdown, but I think this is best. I am very sorry to those who have made plans to attend as I am with you with everything planned. We will have no problem with the final round as it will be held at one of the biggest indoor track in all of the US the Hobbyplex. The Hobbyplex has a wonderful track and huge hobby shop and have years of experience at hosting fantastic events. Tim, Alex and the team there know how to prepare and host events to ensure everyone has a great time so we know we are in for a great final event of this years Short Course Showdown. Again I am sorry for this unfortunate situation but we have exhausted all options.
